Before I graduated from high school, my English teacher had each of us write a letter to ourselves describing where we would be five years in the future . With a bright future in front of us it was easy to fill up the page with our dreams of finishing college, getting a great job, and, for some, starting a family. However, when I received that letter in the mail five years later I realized I had strayed very far off of the path I had set for myself. Not that I am not happy with my life, I am, but I realized that without those goals in front of me it easy to let time and life carry them away. Without goals and something to work towards, it is easy to stay where we are and just let time slip away. So I would ask you, what goals do you have for yourself?
Sit down and write out where you see yourself five years from now. Do you want to start a new career? Perhaps you see yourself in management? Do you still want to be living in the same location? Or even the same state? Once you have it all written down, it’s time to make it happen. Break your five-year plan down into one year plans , and if you are super detailed, monthly plans. Determine what you have to do over the next five years to get you where you want to go. Think about whether you have all the leadership skills to get you to the next level at work and, if not, what you can do to enhance. If you want to be a leader and eventually work in management, find out if your company offers a management training program that can help you sharpen your skills.
Don’t think that just because you write down your goals you have to stick to them. Pull them out every once in awhile and reevaluate them. As you change, so will your goals. Goals are a good way to feel like you’ve accomplished something and keep you moving steadily into the future.

Even though the price and the installation of hot tubs has drastically fallen in the last few years, people still have many questions they want answered when considering this kind of home or backyard renovation and addition.  Many questions people have include the time and the difficultly of hot tub maintenance, the best temperature to have the water set at, the benefits of water therapy, and the differences in the models based on the design elements.  When considering a purchase such as this, do not be timid about asking these questions of your sales representative.  There are many companies to choose from, and if you are not satisfied with one, you still have many options.

The care and upkeep of a hot tub is much less time consuming than that for a standard sized swimming pool.  This is one of the reasons many opt for the smaller spas for their backyard enhancements.  As long as the balance in the water is kept in check, the hot tub will simply need to be cleaned every few months.  Hot tubs and health benefits,  well it is no secret that soaking in hot water relieves stress and relaxes the muscles.  It is also good therapy with those who have certain diseases or injuries, but one should always check with their doctor to make certain it is appropriate for their health and their symptoms.  Different tubs will have different recommended temperature settings.  It is important to follow these recommendations and to always make sure that you have a working thermometer for your hot tub.  When the waters become too hot, serious health risks may ensue.

The basic designs and the mechanical operation of all hot tubs is similar.  There is the basic tub itself, and then variations as to the number of jets, and the size and seating capacity.  It is best to consider how often you will be using your tub, and how many people will be using it at any given time.  Also, if you are choosing a hot tub for the massaging aspects, make certain that the number of jets will provide you with what you are desiring.  Again, all sale people will be able to answer questions, and there is a lot of information available on the Internet so that you can be sure that the decisions you are making are the right ones for you.

Most people don’t need to be convinced about the benefits of warm water and bubbling jets, soothing your aching muscles and melting the stress of the day away.  It’s really rather universal, and even primal, to be drawn to water.  Bathing is as old as life itself, with the idea that we come out of the waters of the womb and go back to the water for cleansing and purification.  Ritual bathing is also something very old, with a long and fascinating history.  With our hot tubs, you’re entering into that old tradition, but also enjoying all the fabulous features of modern technology.  Control of the water’s temperature and speed are just the beginning, and we offer such delightful amenities as stereo systems and television to enhance the experience.

The modern ritual of hot tubs has its origins, most likely, from the Romans, who got the idea from the Greeks – just like everything else.  But it wasn’t until Carcalla built his famous Thermae that the history really begins to roll along.  Carcalla, who lived between the years 188-217, designed one of the largest bath houses in the world.  Funded by taxes, it could allow for 1,600 bathers at a time, and the citizens were allowed to use it whenever they wished.  One might think Carcalla would have been a magnanimous ruler with enlightened ideas of the good life, but unfortunately he was just another bloodthirsty emporer who helped bring the end of the Roman Empire.

Nonetheless, the ideas of the public bathhouse were not his ideas, but had already been well-established and formalized by the time he built his monument.  At least a century before his rule, Roman baths were extremely popular.  Again, drawing on the wisdom of the Greeks, the Romans had a complicated ritual for bathing already in place.  It involves annointing the bather in oils, and this is followed by a regimen of heavy exercise, and then various dips in waters of different temperatures.  They needed the baths, then, for their complex system of modulating the body’s temperature to give the bather a feeling of terrific well-being.  The end of the bath was followed with more annointing with more oil, and at this point the history of the ritual gets slippery.  While our experience of the bath is much simpler, the technology has certainly grown more sophisticated, but its place at the center of culture is a very old idea indeed.

Gastric sleeve surgery is a form of bariatric surgery. This type of surgery is used on patients who are too obese to have invasive weight loss surgery. The surgery is also for patients who are unable to receive any type of gastric banding surgery.

Simply put, gastric sleeve surgery is like a stepping stone to the more invasive weight loss surgeries such as gastric bypass surgery and duodenal switch surgery.

What happens during the procedure is that about 60 percent of the stomach is removed by a bariatric surgeon so that the stomach then takes the shape of a tube or sleeve, hence the name of the surgery.

What makes the surgery less invasive is that it is performed laparoscopically, meaning that the surgeon makes just a few small incisions instead of one big one. That allows for the patient to heal faster and feel less pain.

This surgery is often followed by a gastric bypass surgery within the next eight or so weeks following the gastric sleeve surgery.

Unfortunately, gastric sleeve surgery is relatively new in the realm of weight loss surgeries. It is hardly ever covered by weight loss surgery insurance and gastric sleeve cost upwards of $10,000.

Medical tourism Mexico offers a new kind of option when it comes for paying for these types of surgeries. Having surgery in countries outside of the United States are becoming increasingly more popular as patients discover that the doctors are have most likely been trained in the United States and the facilities are state of the art.

Medical tourism, as the term implies is also a great way to recover from these types of weight loss surgeries. Since recovery from gastric sleeve surgery can take a few weeks, it’s perfect to just sit on the beach and do the best you can in enjoying your recovery. Some may even choose to have their next round of surgery say gastric bypass, Mexico is a great option for accommodations of both the medical and tourism kind.

The average wine drinker in England now consumes around 2,000 calories from booze alone each month, new figures show. Over a year this is equivalent to 38 extra roast beef dinners or almost 184 bags of crisps.

Two fifths (42 per cent) of women surveyed by the Government’s Know Your Limits campaign admitted they didn’t know that a glass of white wine has the same calorie content as a bag of crisps. Two large glasses of white wine not only put a woman over the recommended daily limit for alcohol consumption but – at approximately 370kcals – also provide her with nearly a fifth of her daily calorie allowance.

Similarly, two fifths of men (40 per cent) aren’t aware that a pint of lager has as many calories as a sausage roll. A beer-drinker knocking back just five pints a week would add a whopping 44,200 calories over a year, equivalent to 221 doughnuts.

But additional calories don’t just come from the alcohol consumed. More than one in three drinkers (37 per cent) admit they are likely to eat more than they usually would or ditch the healthy diet when drinking above their recommended daily limits.

Almost one in three (29 per cent) drinkers order crisps, nuts or pork scratchings to accompany their booze, while 19 per cent regularly opt for a takeaway to grab a pizza, burger, bag of chips or kebab when drinking more than two pints of beer or two glasses of wine. The new Know Your Limits figures also suggest that the ‘morning after’ sees us pack away yet more calories.

Almost two thirds of drinkers (62 per cent) who normally eat a bowl of cereal or muesli for breakfast ditch it in favour of less healthy breakfasts to help them through their hangover. To settle their stomachs after drinking more than the recommended daily limits, over a quarter (28 per cent) turn to a fry-up, bacon or sausage sandwich, or takeaway breakfast from a fast-food chain. Swapping a bowl of cereal for a fry-up can add an extra 450 calories, on top of the alcohol calories consumed the night before.

Experts suggest contacting an alcohol treatment center or alcohol rehab program for more information on alcohol abuse.

All surgery makes sense if you need it. What doesn’t make sense is paying through the nose when you have alternatives that are viable and easy to find. The business of Medical Tourism makes it easy for people to find these alternatives by directing them to hospital care that fits their needs as well as their pocket books. Companies dealing in this new trend are equipped with a knowledgeable staff that can help you send medical records and all other pertinent information to the doctor and hospital you have selected outside of your home country. For it is outside the United States that people are turning for procedures such as affordable shoulder surgery and other procedures including cosmetic surgery, heart surgery, and more. With costs sometimes 60% less than one would find in the United States, it makes sense to choose a Mexican physician who has had the same training as your American surgeon, who will perform the procedure inexpensively in a state-of-the-art hosptial where the staff is courteous and concerned about your welfare. And if this doesn’t add up for you, there is the extra perk of enjoying a vacation once your procedure is over on a quiet beach or visiting a nearby town where you can relax for a few extra days before heading home. A surgery and a vacation while saving money!

Lap band surgery in Mexico has become a popular option for patients seeking help for obesity. Advanced techniques and personalized care are one of the hallmarks of health care found in Mexican hospitals, with Mexican physicians exhibiting some of the best training in the world.

A new phenomenon called medical tourism is an increasingly sought after way to undergo inexpensive surgery while also reaping the benefits of being in another country that is rich with sights and experiences. Now you can book a hospital along with the right surgeon, have your procedure, recuperate comfortably in a room that allows you to have a loved one by your side, and then use your extra time once released to enjoy a vacation. You can do all of this, and probably still have money left over, compared with the high cost of medical care in the United States.

Many people who are in need of lap band or gastric bypass surgery continue to try diets that don’t work rather than spend their hard earned money on health care that keeps getting more expensive to maintain. With countries such as Mexico, Costa Rica, India, and Hungary boasting highly trained surgeons in state-of-the-art hosptials, these people are now able to have a chance at leading healthy lives through affordable care.

There are a lot of choices when it comes to choosing a drug rehab out there. Most people don’t know where to start and they are overwhelmed with emotion and sadness because a loved one is addicted and often the family is strapped for cash, time and they are worried about the addict’s life.

Drug addiction recovery programs should be designed for specific age groups and that is because a teenager or young adult does not need to be in close quarters with a recovering user in their forties or fifties. Young adults need to learn a different set of skills and they need to be protected from any manipulation that an older person might use.

One thing to keep in mind is that alcoholism treatment can be in the same facility as drug treatment. Alcoholism and drug addiction are both addictions and the same skills need to be learned in rehab so it is okay to have them together. The most important thing to do would be to make sure you do your research and choose a center that meets all of your needs and restrictions.
