For first time visitors as well as seasoned visitors who haven’t seen all that San Francisco has to see, check out the 49 Mile Drive. It was created in 1938 as a way for the visitors who were in San Francisco for the Golden Gate International Exposition could see all the sights in one fair swoop. To make sure you are on the right road, you may want to catch a tour and let them do the driving. Because there are so many things to see it may need to be customized to what you really want to see. There are ways to search out a map if you want to go it alone.

Some of the highlights of the 49 Mile Drive include the starting point which is City Hall which is in the Civic Center area. Another good shopping area of the city is found on the route at Union Square. Then there is the must see Chinatown which makes visitors question whether they are still in America or not. There could be the perfect hotel accommodations for you on Nob Hill. That would be the 7th stop on the route.

North Beach crazy night life is at stop 11. Stop 12 has Telegraph Hill with Coit Tower. Then there is Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz and the list goes on for 49 fantastic stops around the city.
