Ever try spelunking in Australia? If not, then the Jenolan Caves in New South Wales may be the place to start. These caves have been known to the aboriginal locals for thousands of years. Called Binoomea or “dark places,” they were first explored by Europeans in 1838, one hundred and seventy-two years ago.
Originally used as a hide-out by an ex-convict known as James McKeown, the caves were recorded first by a farmer named James Whalan; he and his brother Charles explored openings into the Elder Cave in 1848. As the decades passed, more caves were uncovered, including the largest of them, the Lucas cave, in 1860, coming under the control of the government six years later.
By the time the Old West was in full swing in America, in Australia the Jenolan Caves were a tourist attraction with caver Jeremiah Wilson exploring to the end of the Elder Cave and discovering the Imperial Cave in 1879. This led to the discovery of the Left Imperial, renamed the Chifley Cave seven decades after its discovery in 1880 (in 1952) after the Prime Minister.
Electric lighting was installed in the caves in 1887, and pathways were installed helping to protect the formations. As exploration continued, even more caves were found, including the Jersey Cave in 1891 and the Jubilee Cave in 1893. Even today, exploration of the caves is not complete. In the 20th Century, the Barralong Cave and Spider Cave (in 1963 and 1975, respectively), were uncovered.
Presently, the Jenolan is the focus of tourism, drawing in 250,000 visitors each year to eleven caves, while more caves remain to be found.
If exploring the astonishing sights of underground worlds is your interest, then there are plenty of hotels in New South Wales from which to choose that will bring you close to the cave system. If you want to explore the caves more on the Internet, take a look at the Jenolan Caves Historical & Preservation Society .

Moving a Business can be very hard to do. You have to get everything packed and moved and still continue to keep the business running. Some places may have the luxury of being able to shut down for a few days while this is going on, but most don’t, and you usually need to continue to service your customer base while you are in the middle of this craziness. There are few things you can do when you are getting ready to move your company into a new space that can help you a lot, but the most important one comes before you ever start the move itself.
You will want to find a good property management company to rent from. Some companies like Transglobe Commercial Properties will help you out with the moving expenses to a certain degree, and will provide you with services, like an elevator for the large desks, if you are on an upper floor. Some companies do not think of these things when they take over a building, or have one built, and a bad property management service can make the move harder than it has to be.
The thing to remember about a bad property management service is that they usually don’t mean to make the move harder, they simply haven’t thought about what their customers will need, and if they are really bad, may try to stick you in an office space that will not help your company continue to expand. That is why some companies like Transglobe Property Management have made a point of trying to listen to what their customers have said. Being a good property management service does not mean bad stuff never happens, but rather that you are capable and happy to fix problems when they do come up, and try to prevent problems before they will come up. Working in a timely manner is key for them to keep a good customer service relationship , so ask around the area you are thinking of moving the business into and see if you have a good property management company, or if the space will be no good for you.
