There is so much to do in the city of Baltimore, that one may become overwhelmed with choices.   Many of the buildings throughout the city are historic buildings that have been restored.  Baltimore plumbing companies and construction workers have teamed with some of the finest of architects and the results are an incredible mix of the modern and the historical, it is an eclectic mix that makes just walking down one of the small streets a great activity.  However, if you are looking a destination on one of your walks, one place that is filled with the world of art is the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower.

This is a large building that has been transformed into artists’ studios.  Visual artists and writers take part in open studios, and this is a fantastic way to see a variety of art all in one spot.  These days are free events, and you will not only be able to see finished artwork, as you would in a gallery, but you will witness the artists at work, see their paintings or sculptures or books, as they are happening, in progress.  Some of the pieces are for sale, and there is a newly renovated cafe where you can relax and grab a bite to eat.

Another great destination, and one that is in keeping of the literary art world, is the grave of Edgar Allen Poe.  Some people come to the site in search of all that is spooky and strange about cemeteries in general, and all that was spooky and strange about the poet himself.  This is located right in the middle of Baltimore, but is still a serene and quiet spot.  The Westminster Hall Cemetery, where Poe’s grave is located, is also the finally resting place for many of the other historical figures and prominent families of the city.  While there is a festival at the grave site each Halloween, the rest of the year there are many visitors as well.  Those who wish to homage for Poe, and lay offerings by his tombstone.  These are just two of the many interesting sites to see when visiting the beautiful city of Baltimore, Maryland.
