There are some parts of Goa where Portuguese remains the dominant language and gorgeous Catholic churches share the landscape with Hindu temples.
Although Goa is considered to be a land of villages, there are a growing number of modern cities in the state. Villages range from quiet mountain enclaves to traditional coastal fishing communities.
