I’m sitting in my home office today getting on with my work.  The only problem I face when working at home is that I sometimes get easily distracted.  Today I attempted to clean my drawers out but it didn’t get too far.  I came across some maps from previous trips and also from future trips I’m planning.

In my drawer I discovered  a map of Paris from last year (oh those long days sitting outside a Parisian cafe drinking lots of coffee!)  It was well marked with notes from my trip, as well as some coffee and wine stains!  Also in my drawer I found a map of Missouri, a map of Oregon, a map of Pennsylvania. These were all for future trips I have been planning - both work related and personal.

Next summer I am planning my first trip to South America and I need to pick up a map of Peru as I will be spending quite a bit of time there with my friends in Lima.   I also want to travel to other areas of the country to experience life away from the city.  This will be may major trip for the year and I am looking forward to it.  I am also already thinking ahead of this to other travel opportunities I want to plan.

It is one of Barack Obama’s most reliable laugh lines. At the close of his stump speech, he often says, “I am reminded by every day of my life — if not by events, then by my wife — that I am not a perfect man.”

These days, after catching grief for calling her husband “snore-y and stinky” and speaking about his bad habits in the manner of a loving but exasperated wife, Michelle Obama only sings his praises. Read more
